Senior Research Associate, Microbiology

BioConsortia, Inc.’s Davis, CA, office seeks a Senior Research Associate, Microbiology to provide technical support for our science program with particular emphasis on the development and characterization of bacterial and fungal culture collections. Duties include: (i) isolation, characterization, culture and storage of bacteria and fungi in strict accepting conditions; (ii) designing, optimizing, and implementing protocols to characterize plant-relevant microbial traits from a wide diversity of bacteria and fungi; (iii) providing technical assistance for the set-up and implementation of lab and field trials and associated activities; (iv) leading the development, optimization and implementation of new assays as well as collating data and experimental records and preparing reagents and media; (v) contributing to implementation of regulatory requirements and internal policies as well as development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); (vi) preparing and delivering material in the form of reports and presentations; and (vii) using analytical equipment, including but not limited to spectrophotometer, HPLC.

Research Associate/Technician - Plant Care

BioConsortia (Davis, CA) uses a revolutionary microbial R&D platform to improve plant traits and increase crop yields. We are seeking to expand our Plant Care team with two additional research technicians. The successful applicants will contribute to the Plant Care group’s evaluations of plant performance across scales of enquiry from individual plant organs to whole plants and the crop canopy, and for experiments performed in growth rooms and greenhouse to field trials. These data are collected using state of the art plant phenotyping resources.
