Gene Editing

A versatile genome engineering platform – driving a step-change in delivery of superior microbial products.

BioConsortia’s has built-up a high level of expertise in microbial genome engineering. Applying these skills, a proprietary workflow has been established for efficient DNA transformation, gene delivery and gene editing in bacteria.

Gene editing techniques, such as scar-less homologous recombination, are highly specific and do not introduce exogenous DNA. As such, these edited microbes are not considered to be GMOs by the EPA.

With proven efficacy across a broad diversity of isolates within the AMS isolate library, these molecular tools create the opportunity to deliver game-changing levels of performance. For this reason, BioConsortia is now employing these tools across its nitrogen biofertilizer, biopesticide and biostimulant development pipelines.
